St. Faustina's Prayer

Saint Faustina, the apostle of Divne Mercy, is a constant reminder of the message to trust in Jesus' endless mercy, and to live life mercifully toward others. The prayer below, written by Saint Faustina, speaks to my spirit as I go through this present adventure.

O My God,
When I look into the future, I am frightened,
But why plunge into the future?
Only the present moment is precious to me,
As the future may never enter my soul at all.

It is no longer in my power ,
To change, correct, or add to the past;
For neither sages nor prophets could do that.
And so what the past has embraced, I must entrust to God.

O present moment, you belong to me, whole and entire.
I desire to use you as best I can.
And although I am weak and small,
You grant me the grace of your omnipotence.

And so trusting in Your mercy,
I walk through life like a little child,
Offering You each day this heart,
Burning with love for Your greater glory.

Hi, Jayne

It was nice to see you and have lunch with you. Anyway, I hope the chemo is not giving you any adverse side effects and you’re doing fine with the treatment.

My sister, Mom, friends and cousins went to the Monastery of Poor Clare in Santa Barbara last weekend for their 7 am mass on Sunday (that means getting up at 4:30 am. I was at my sister’s house for the weekend in Sherman Oaks so it’s a closer drive). The Poor Clares are cloistered nuns. It has been proven by testimonies from my friends and friends’ friends that so many of their prayer requests have been answered through the prayers of the sisters. A lot of people go there to bring their prayer requests to the sisters. I included you in my prayer requests, for your complete healing, and most especially to grant you the strength, courage and trust in the Lord during this difficult phase of you life.

We’re storming the gates of Heaven for you!

Take care and hope to see you soon, and go antique-ing.

Your friend,
Maria Concepcion
